How to get children to do their chores

My husband and I have figured out a way for us to get the children to do their chores and be able to do the things that they want to do. We have developed a merit system. Which will teach them the value of their merits, and what they will be able to spend them on. We have been working with this for a week and so far it is working. Bryson is the middle one and so far he has earned more than the other two put together. Everything else that we have tried has not worked so this teaches them the value of earning the merits to use in whatever way they want. For example, for two hours of game play they have to accumulate twenty merits, for spending the night at a friends house they have to earn twenty merits for one night, for two nights they have to earn forty merits. For watching movies we have based that on five merits for one movie, and ten merits for two movies. Out of all the things that we have tried over the years this is the only thing that has worked. As a parent we have the responsiblity to teach our children the value of money, and how they have to earn things that they want to do. Children these days do not care about much, and they think that the parents should do everything and let them do anything they want. I was not raised that way and will not let my children act like that. Children expect their parents to clean their room, if they make a mess in the livingroom they do not think they should have to clean it up. The merit system that we have put in place is something that will allow them to learn the concepts of being able to use their merits for something that they want to do. We have tried assigning chores for them to do but it never worked. I have got to say that they have spent more time cleaning and doing the chores so that they can play, watch movies, and go out to their friends house.

Business Paper

When a business is opened throughout the world all the owner wants is to make sure they are giving the customer what they want In doing research about opening a business a person would need to have a mission, and vision statement that they would want their customer's and employee's to know what they are willing to do for them. A owner must first define what type of products or services they were going to offer the customer's, and to make sure they are differentiating the product or service the business will have. These things will be important parts to opening a business especially to make sure that the businesses strategic direction is going the right way. Although all organizations are not the same in the way they will be doing things.
Developing a vision statement is something that is very important to any business because customer's want to know that the business they are buying their products, or service from share the vision that the customer's have for the products that they want. The vision statement should be where the owner puts themselves in the customer's shoes to find out what they are wanting out of the products, or services that the business has. There can be so many ways to make sure that the customer's are happy with the commitment from the business. They can rely on the business to make sure they are getting what they are looking for. The first priority of the business is the customer's because they are what makes the business grow. Everyone knows that in order to succeed in life they have to make sure they keep their vision in their minds so they do not lose sight of what they are working toward through this endeavor.
Consumer's are after products that make life a little easier. Everyone knows that all businesses need to make sure to guide principles, or values, topics of culture, responsibility, and ethics also play a huge role in the way a business is started and what the owner would want the employee's to keep these things in mind because they are very important in developing a good strategic plan for the business. There will be somethings that a business does not want their employee's talking about to the customer's, and there will be things that the customer's do not want to hear because they do not come into a place of business to hear a great deal of noise especially first thing in the morning when they are on their way to work or on a break from something. A coffee shop and gift store would be a wonderful business to start up because consumer's are always on the go when they go into a business they usually end up buying or getting some type of service. So while they are drinking coffee they can walk around and look at different things like bird houses, knick knacks, or other toys the business offer to their customer's.
The importance of the vision statement is the biggest thing that needs to be worked on throughout the business because as a owner of a business they have to be ready for anything that comes in the way. They should never forget why they are opening the business because it has what the consumer's want to be able to have coffee, and maybe even buy something from the gift shop. An owner of this coffee and gift shop would need to make sure they are following the vision throughout the future of the business to make sure they are ready for the future business they will be receiving. A vision statement is where the owner will see what kind of business they will be getting later on down the line with the products or services they offer. Offering different products and services allows more customer's to come into the store and eventually will buy something that they have found. Customer's like to see businesses that stand behind their mission and vision statements because that shows that the business does care about their customer's.
In conclusion, there are somethings that are very important to opening a business especially if the business is going to offer several different products, or services to their customer's. Occasionally there will be a business that makes it without having a mission or vision statement to work by but they eventually will not make it through because they should think like the customer's. All company's need to have some long term and short term goals along with the mission and vision statement. Any type of organization or business needs to show the consumer's what they can offer to them, and at what price they would be able to offer the product and service. All of these things are very important to the success of the business so the owner needs to be aware of the things around them.

Getting A Job

I sit here with a bachelor's degree in business management. A person would think that this person should be able to get a job with this degree. It does not work that way here in this small town that I live in the only places around here for a good job would be with the state or county but a person that is not a friend or family member cannot get a job with any of these company's because it is all family run. Banks, and loan places are not that great either your credit must be excellent or you will not be considered for employment even if you have great education and experience. It is a sad shame that company's like this will not take a chance on someone with education, good people skills, and still going further with their education to be some one in this world. You are either over qualified, or you do not have enough experience to qualify for a position. I have been told that it does not matter how much education you have that still does not qualify you to be a manager. I think this is a load of bull because there are many people that get a lot of education and have great jobs. I am a single mother of three children and going to college to better my education and I still have not found a good job and out of all the resumes that I have sent out no one has replied except for insurance agencies, and gas stations. For example, about a year ago I had an interview with a bank branch manager for a teller position went to the interview, and he told me about the position and that it was part time. Which was not a problem and he said that he would be back in touch with me. I never recieved a call about the position and I know why because of my credit report which should not be considered in obtaining employment with anyone. There are plenty of reasons why some things would show up on a credit report but no one wants to hear about it. There are plenty of honest hard working people out there that will do what it takes for the company that they work for but never get the chance because of stupidity like this. It is very exahusting thinking about this type of stuff and how I can find a better job to support my family. But these days no one in this town will take a chance on someone because of education, credit reports, and other things I am sure. Sometimes I feel like people are threatened by the education that I have, and they seem afraid that I will take their job. I have achieved so much over the past five years and nothing to show for it even though I am happy with the accomplishments that I have made through the years I am still unhappy that there is no jobs out there, and no help out their for people who try and do the right things like get an education, work, and keep their children safe from harm.

Life in General

I sit at home watching the children play they have such an imagination especially the boys bryson and dakota they can come up with some pretty funny stuff. These are moments that cannot be taken for granted. Melissa always knows how to get her way about different things that she is allowed to do right now. They are our little children who are the best thing in life. Sometimes they are a pain in the rump but other times you are lost without them there is no in between. Sometimes it is hard to see your children grow up and off on their own. Sometimes I wished I could have spent more time with them when they were little but they are growing up and there is nothing that I can do about that except love them. A new year is coming and it is time for a change we are moving to Alanta, Georgia because there is nothing here in the way of jobs. People think that we are making a mistake but who wants to work from paycheck to paycheck for the rest of their lives? I have better dreams and plans for the future of my family, and better plans to make it on our own. I have always been an independant person from the age of 17 I have done it on my own since then with a little help here and there but mainly on my own. Sometimes I wonder how I have made it this far, and how I am still hanging on to the things that I love the most because faith is all we have and we should not lose it. I am telling my children everyday to have faith in everything that they do because it will always work out one way or another.

Life in General

Sometimes I will stand around and observe the people who I am around daily. Many of the employee's speak freely of the life that they lead. I could possibly write a book about many different subjects. Sometimes it can be overwhelming for customer's that come into our establishment to hear about the waitress's life story. The customer's that the establishment serves come to our establishment for the conversation about a variety of items but hearing about personal issues that should not be involved in the workplace could cause issues. There can be times that I cannot stand to be around people because of how they act. She can tell someone something and by the time it reaches back to her it is this long story. Which turns out not to be true because someone down the line added something that should not have been in there. Funny how people can do this to someone else and not think about it but when it is done to her. People who I have worked with cannot be trusted with personal information. People in general do not care who they hurt and how they hurt them as long as she is achieving her goals with being in control of the situation.

Shoes bought from Wal-Mart

I don't know how many pairs of shoes that I have bought over the past few years that never last. Boots that my husband wears are gone in about six months. I know that at a certain time they have to buy new shoes but come on six months use out of shoes is a little ridiculous in my opinion. Everything that a consumer buys in the stores never does what they say it will do. It sometimes is frustrating when consumers spend the money that they have earned to buy these types of shoes only to turn around and spend more money on shoes that won't last. This is what they are counting on and many people are spending money to fix the shoes that they have instead of buying new shoes. This is crazy to have to spend this kind of money every six months.

Buying crap from Wal-Mart that is made in China

I personally am tired of buying electronics from Wal-Mart especially electronics, or anything else because in about two months it breaks down and there she are spending more of her hard-earned money for something that will only break down again. I have bought about four Hamilton Beach coffee pots over the past year and they have all broke down but if the consumer does not return it within that time limit there is nothing she can do about it. I am a single mother going to school, working full-time, and taking care of three children. I do not have the time or money to keep spending on these types of products because it never helps. This makes her wonder what happened with having electronics that lasted for more than six months. I spend most of my time on the phone to people in different countries to arrive at some median so that these products replaced but sometimes there can be no median. I have bought two converter boxes for this digital crap and both of them have stopped working that is why Wal-Mart quit selling them. I have a dvd player which fades in and out so she cannot watch television. Printer's are worthless because she cannot print anything out or the ink that comes with the printer's is not full. All these electronics are useless everyone should consider not buying these electronics. because they think we are just stupid consumer's that won't do anything about it. I AM TIRED OF SPENDING MY HARD-EARNED MONEY ON CRAP FROM CHINA WHEN IT DOES NOT WORK. When I buy something, I want, it to work for a while so that I do not have to worry about buying it again. I think that it is wrong for these places to take advantage of the consumer's this way. So here in 2009 I am in my master's degree for Business Administration/Accounting, and this is not the way to treat consumer's because she is the one that provides these people with jobs. I will not spend my money on these types of products again. If it does not say Made in the USA I will not buy it I am tired of being told there is nothing we can do about this and she has to plug the product back in to see if the problem can be fixed. Consumer's should not have to put up with these failing products. I personally have too many electronics in my house that I have no use for worthless pieces of crap , and the consumer is stuck with them because the warranty runs out the day before it breaks down or the company can only replace the product.
